The perfect ending to a day-trip from Naples to Pompei: an elegant and superbly executed dinner with a most gracious hostess and attentive service. Among the courses on the longer set menu we especially liked the Duroc pork, the artichoke, the grouper, the 'uovo tranquillo' we added from the shorter menu, the fusilli. Every course was delicious. The wine list includes two pages of Fiano d'Avelllino, a personal favorite, but for once we chose the wine pairings. Among the pours were the best Falanghina I have ever had, and an excellent Aglianico. Leaving Pompei by the Amphitheatre gate, one is a five- minute walk from the restaurant, leaving the restaurant after dinner, one is five minutes from the Trenitalia train station for the trip back to Naples. A perfect outing, perfectly ended.
